PicoSure Laser Tattoo Removal

What is PicoSure Laser Tattoo Removal?

The industry standard for laser tattoo erasure is PicoSure. It is the first picosecond laser in the world and the first cutting-edge laser for tattoo removal that uses Pressure Wave technology. The larger and deeper pigment ink particles are broken down by PicoSure’s brief energy bursts without causing damage to the tissue around them. Laser tattoo removal using PicoSure has FDA approval.

PicoSure Laser Tattoo Removal is very effective on:

  • Tattoos with a variety of colors, such as blue and green
  • Stubborn tattoos that have been previously treated

Unlike most providers, we have invested in the technology to effectively remove the” sunset colors” (red, orange, yellow, pink), which require very specialized technology to remove

What is treatment like?

The area to be treated is cleansed and a numbing cream applied reducing the amount of discomfort. The microscopic ink particles are broken up by the ultra-rapid pulses and wavelengths while the skin’s exposure to heat is kept to a minimum. Less discomfort and quicker recovery are provided by the Pressure Wave technology. As the ink is broken down into tiny particles, absorbed by the lymphatic system, and gradually removed, the tattoo fades. Compared to other conventional lasers, the high energy levels allow pigment removal with fewer treatments.

The feeling is similar to a rubber band snapping across the skin. We provide a number of techniques to reduce discomfort and enhance treatment comfort.

How many treatments will I need?

Each tattoo is unique in its own way. Five to eight treatments are a reasonable range for most tattoo removal.

What is the after care?

After treatment, a sterile non-stick dressing is applied which should be removed before the next shower. Mild swelling and a little bit of redness all over the treated area are the most frequent side effects following treatment. The following are additional typical results of laser tattoo removal:

  • Tingling sensations (similar to sunburn)
  • Blisters
  • Itching
  • Mild skin discoloration

Until the wound is healed, stay out of baths, jacuzzis, and swimming pools. Use a daily sunscreen with an SPF of 30 when the region has healed.
